Steel String

The "Gordon Giltrap Special" is the result of a collaboration with Gordon Giltrap who supplied me with the Variax system to be built into a special guitar which had the feel of a quality acoustic guitar. The guitar incorporated the neck dimensions and string spacings as specified by Gordon. The guitar incorporates a special shape where the neck joins the body to allow full and easy access to the 24 frets and was also designed to have the feel of an acoustic guitar while still being essentially an electric guitar. The video below explains a little about the guitar and the way that Gordon uses the guitar for his composition "Dodos Dream".

Back and sides:     Flamed Maple with flamed Mahogany bindings
Sound-board:        Western Red Cedar
Neck:                     Mahogany neck with rosewood/maple center section
Fingerboard:         Macasser Ebony with abalone

Neck width , neck profile, string spacing are to your specifications and the guitar is fitted with the VARIAX system.
